Say you really want a Focus hatchback and you want a stick. Yet you cant afford a new one or an ST. Would you get an auto hatch because thats all you can find used or get a sedan just because it has the 5 speed? Also I'm talking the newer ones circa 2012.

It depends on priorities. I wanted a rarer engine option on my car so I waited quite a long time for one to come up. I'd go for the sedan because looks mean little to me and I only drive manuals. But if you like auto and want the hatches practicality or look that works too.

hardly a question, I'd go manual sedan 9/10 times. I'd only get the auto hatch if I really needed hatch.

Wait until you find what you want at a price you can afford. Or just buy a Miata.

I would wait until I found or could afford what I wanted because it would always bother me every time I got in it that I could have looked a little harder or saved a little longer and gotten the hatchback stick. I like to beat myself up about stuff like that though.

Or buy a Fiesta instead? I would advise against the auto in the new Focus. It's pretty terrible.

Manual over hatch ery day. But I would probably keep searching until I found a manual hatch.

Manuél gets priority there.
